The Job You’ll Do.

  • Effectively lead shift operations, ensuring resources are prioritised and allocated to meet operational requirements.
  • Manage shift changes and handovers to maintain seamless operational continuity.
  • Conduct initial Safety and Conduct investigations in line with company procedures.
  • Carry out Return to Work meetings following employee absences.
  • Conduct low-level conduct and absence management meetings.
  • Ensure stock checks are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Make labour allocation decisions and maintain accurate absence records.
  • Monitor and manage daily operational KPIs to achieve performance targets.
  • Lead daily operational meetings to communicate priorities, performance, and key updates.
  • Coordinate the ordering of PPE and workwear to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Promote 100% shift participation in Unsafe Situation Reporting to support a proactive safety culture.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping across the operational area.
  • Escalate out-of-hours operational, engineering, and SHE issues to the relevant managers as required.
  • Work a rotating three-shift pattern, covering day, night, and back shifts to support 24/7 operations.

About You;

  • Experience managing a team within an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Educated to GCSE level or above
  • Additional Management qualifications are desirable but not required (IOSH, NVQ, NEBOSH, LEAN etc.)
  • Committed to health & safety
  • Act as a positive role model and set a good example
  • Possesses a can-do positive attitude with a drive to succeed and motivate others
  • Possesses excellent communication skills
  • Remain calm under pressure
