Production Shift Supervisor

Location: Elland, West Yorkshire
Salary: £16.95 per hour
Hours: 42 hours per week, Continental Shift Pattern
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x
Job Type: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Shift Supervisor to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Elland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor or Team Leader who enjoys being hands-on and leading from the front. You will support the Shift Manager with the day-to-day running of production, ensuring people, processes and products continue to flow efficiently throughout the shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Shift Manager with the day-to-day performance of the production team
  • Lead and coordinate employees across the shift, ensuring production targets and standards are achieved
  • Identify and resolve production and quality issues wherever possible
  • Ensure products are manufactured to the correct specifications and quality standards
  • Make sure products are correctly packed, labelled and produced in the required quantities
  • Ensure all workstations are correctly set up and relevant SOP documentation is available
  • Monitor waste, changeovers and general production performance
  • Complete line checks, production paperwork and effective shift handovers
  • Ensure finished goods are transferred to the correct storage locations ready for shipping
  • Maintain excellent 5S and housekeeping standards throughout the production environment
  • Support a positive, safe and efficient working environment across the shift


What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor or Production Team Leader
  • Strong experience within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Previous experience leading and supporting production teams
  • Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings
  • Good understanding of manufacturing and production standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with production and quality issues
  • Good understanding of SOPs, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of 5S and continuous improvement would be advantageous
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A hands-on leadership style and willingness to support the team when required
