The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Supervisor to join a busy food manufacturing operation. Reporting directly to the Packhouse Manager, you will be responsible for leading production teams, driving performance, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring operational efficiency across the packing operation.
This role would suit an experienced Team Leader, Production Supervisor, Line Leader, or Shift Supervisor looking to further develop their leadership career within FMCG or food production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, organise, and motivate production teams to achieve daily production targets
- Plan labour allocation effectively to maximise productivity and operational efficiency
- Ensure all health & safety, hygiene, and food safety procedures are always followed
- Maintain compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and GMP requirements
- Monitor and drive production KPIs, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Minimise waste, downtime, and resource usage while maximising output
- Ensure production documentation, records, and reporting are completed accurately
- Monitor production line performance and escalate any equipment or process issues as required
What We're Looking For
We are keen to speak with Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, Line Leaders, Shift Supervisors, or Senior Operatives from manufacturing environments including:
- Food Manufacturing
- Fresh Produce
- FMCG
- Packaging
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing, production, or packaging environment
- Strong organisational and people management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Good numerical and IT skills
- Experience working towards production targets and KPI achievement
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment
- Flexible approach to working hours and business requirements
- Understanding of food safety, quality, and health & safety standards
Qualifications
Essential:
- GCSEs, NVQ, Diploma, or equivalent qualification
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Desirable:
- HACCP Training
- Advanced Food Hygiene Qualification
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
