Production Supervisor

Are you an experienced Production Supervisor or Team Leader looking to take the next step in your career?

We are working with an established manufacturing business in South Lanarkshire that is looking for a Production Supervisor to support the Production Manager in leading a busy production operation.

This is a hands-on supervisory position where you will be responsible for coordinating workload, monitoring productivity and ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer deadlines are consistently achieved.

You will play an important role in the day-to-day running of your allocated production area, ensuring the team has the direction, resources and support required to deliver efficiently.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supervising and coordinating a production team to achieve planned targets and deadlines.
• Planning team workload to maximise productivity and efficiency.
• Monitoring production progress and ensuring customer commitments are achieved.
• Reviewing processes and identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and cost.
• Ensuring employees understand and correctly use equipment and processes.
• Identifying training and development requirements within the team.
• Supporting the development and training of apprentices and less experienced employees.
• Managing the ordering and control of materials and other items required for your production area.
• Completing regular production and process audits.
• Monitoring production tracking systems to ensure accurate job and product traceability.
• Ensuring accurate information is available for reporting purposes.
• Working closely with the Production Manager and other supervisors to maintain smooth production flow.

We are looking for someone with previous supervisory experience within a manufacturing, engineering, fabrication or other production environment.

You should have:

• At least 2 years' experience in a similar production/supervisory environment.
• Previous experience supervising or leading a production team.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• The ability to allocate workload effectively and manage competing priorities.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• The ability to work to production targets and customer deadlines.
• Good attention to quality, accuracy and process.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor, Team Leader or Senior Production Operative to take greater responsibility for people, productivity and day-to-day production performance.
