Production Supervisor
Theo James Recruitment
Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Hartlepool
Salary: £46,000 per annum inclusive of shift allowance
Working Hours: Rotating days and nights, with flexibility required to meet the production schedule.
Benefits:
Pension and opportunity to join the company share scheme.
The Company:
This is an opportunity to join a manufacturing operation strengthening its supervisory capability across production. As a Production Supervisor, you’ll have responsibility for leading people, maintaining standards and helping improve operational performance rather than simply keeping the shift running.
The organisation is open to relevant manufacturing backgrounds, making this an opportunity to bring established supervisory experience into a different production environment.
Job Description:
As Production Supervisor, you’ll take day-to-day responsibility for production areas and the team members working within them, ensuring targets relating to output, quality, cost, compliance, health and safety and people are delivered.
Safety will be an important part of the position. The Production Supervisor will support Safe Systems of Work, train and monitor operators, promote reporting of near misses and hazards, maintain PPE standards and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken.
You’ll manage and engage the manufacturing team, including absence and return-to-work processes, first-stage disciplinaries, inductions, training, skills matrices, team briefings and toolbox talks.
The Production Supervisor will also plan resources, monitor production targets, adjust plans throughout the shift and lead improvement activity to strengthen operational performance and reliability.
Alongside this, you’ll monitor areas including labour, overtime and scrap costs, carry out safety, quality and housekeeping audits, support ISO audit preparation and act quickly when quality issues arise.
Skills & Experience:
To succeed as a Production Supervisor, you’ll need strong people leadership and communication skills alongside the ability to problem-solve, influence others and challenge existing ways of working constructively.
You should be comfortable working in a target-driven production environment and able to build an effective team while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and delivery.
MS Office capability, including Excel and Word, is required, although further training can be provided. An IOSH Managing Safely certificate or equivalent and knowledge of continuous improvement techniques are desirable.
Why Should You Apply?
This Production Supervisor opportunity offers the chance to bring your supervisory experience into an operation where leadership, safety and delivery all matter. You’ll have responsibility across people and production while being encouraged to identify improvements rather than simply accept existing processes.
If you’re an experienced Production Supervisor - or have closely comparable manufacturing leadership experience - and want a role combining hands-on operational understanding with genuine responsibility for people and performance, this could be worth exploring.
The package is £46,000 per annum inclusive of shift allowance, alongside pension and the opportunity to join the company share scheme.
