Production Team Leader 

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Team Leader to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing facility in Portsmouth.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a safety-focused manufacturing environment where quality, teamwork and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything they do.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of approximately Twenty employees, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity.We are looking for a confident and engaging leader who can work on their own initiative, motivate others and create a strong right-first-time culture within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 15–20 employees within a skilled manufacturing environment.
• Ensure agreed production, quality and delivery targets are achieved.
• Monitor and manage team performance, productivity and attendance.
• Support holiday and sickness management within the team.
• Encourage employee development and progression through training.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Work collaboratively with other departments and management teams.
• Maintain accurate production and work-in-progress records.
• Support the preparation of concessions and permits where required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is an experienced people leader with the confidence and ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
• Experience managing and motivating teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• The ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to maintain WIP trackers using Excel.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum of A-levels, BTEC National Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader position is essential.

• Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 07:30–16:15 or 06:00–14:45; Friday 07:30–16:00 or 06:00–14:45
  Working Pattern: 9-day working fortnight – every other Friday is a non-working day
