Role Overview
The Production Team Leader will be responsible for leading their team and for the safe running of the Production Department. The Production Team Leader will ensure the team operates efficiently by distributing labour; following the allocated plan to achieve business targets through customer demand.
You will work a shift pattern consisting of 2 days (07:00-19:00) followed by 2 nights (19:00-07:00) then 4 days off.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the Production Department.

Allocate labour and resources in line with the daily production plan to achieve business targets and customer demand.

Conduct shift handovers and facilitate daily shift kick-start and operations meetings.

Monitor and audit machines and operators to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality and production standards.

Ensure production monitoring systems, shift reports and associated documentation are accurately completed and maintained.

Drive a proactive safety culture by identifying risks, supporting risk assessments, conducting audits and encouraging safety reporting.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing tools and support workplace organisation and housekeeping standards.

Deliver training, develop team capability and maintain training plans to ensure operational flexibility and compliance.

Provide regular performance feedback and support employee development through reviews and training opportunities.

Monitor equipment performance and work with relevant teams to identify and resolve operational issues that impact efficiency.
Skills and Experience

Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Previous experience leading a team.

Computer literate, including Microsoft Office packages.

Understanding of business processes.

Ability to accurately complete paperwork and maintain records.

Organised and able to effectively manage own workload.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to identify and resolve problems.

Willing and able to work shifts.
