We have a new opportunity for a Production Operative to join a well-established manufacturing company in Andover. This role is a key to the smooth running of the Production department and assisting the company in moving forward and maintaining on time deliveries to our Customers.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 08:00-16:15 | 08:00-16:00

Key Responsibilities of a Production Technician
- Build products using parts kits from Stores, following build notes, wiring diagrams and drawings.
- Build sub-assemblies using parts kits from Stores, following the latest instructions and drawings.
- Test all units before packing (including units from subcontractors). This may involve basic maths and using charts/tables.
- Update and improve build notes for new and existing products.
- Carry out workshop tasks where trained/experienced (e.g., lathe, milling, soldering, brazing).
- Complete ECO (Engineering Change Order) and CAR (Corrective Action Report) forms.
- Suggest improvements to products and processes to improve quality, build and reliability.
- Work efficiently to deadlines and follow instructions from your line manager.
- Complete test sheets, packing lists and fit unit labels.
- Fit optional upgrades and carry out testing (including software where needed).
- Fault find and help solve production issues within your ability and experience.
- Keep your work area clean, safe and tidy and look after company tools/equipment.
- Support R&D tasks when required.
- Train new or existing subcontractors on how to build units when needed.
- Help move units on and off the production floor.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties linked to your skills and training.
Requirements of a Production Technician
- Good with numbers, accurate and computer literate.
- Safety conscious and aware of safe working practices.
- Good time management and able to meet deadlines.
- Able to work calmly and methodically under pressure.
- Reliable, organised, flexible and detail-focused.
- Good communication skills (able to listen and explain clearly).
- Full driving licence.
- Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
- Current F-GAS Certificate.
- Plumbing experience.
