Our client, a leading organisation in the retail and technology sector, is seeking a PMO Director to support the delivery of a complex, global business transformation programme on a contract basis. The role will provide senior programme management leadership across the a phase of a major customer experience transformation, covering retail, online, clinical, data, technology and organisational change.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide rigour, discipline and accuracy across programme and workstream management, including planning, milestones, risks and dependencies
  • Support the coordination of stakeholders across regions, Group Functions and interconnected programmes to ensure accurate sequencing and delivery
  • Lead the proactive identification, tracking, mitigation and governance of inter- and intra-programme dependencies
  • Support the leadership team and PMO with clear updates, insights and recommendations for key governance forums
  • Develop and maintain reporting, KPIs and dashboards to support effective programme decision-making
  • Work closely with business readiness teams to prepare the organisation for change and identify operating model requirements
  • Establish effective governance with other programmes to ensure clarity and accuracy across the delivery landscape
  • Use assertive diplomacy to resolve issues, manage competing priorities and create clarity within complex and ambiguous environments


Job Requirements:

  • Extensive senior programme management experience within large-scale business transformation and technology-enabled change programmes
  • Strong IT PMO, PMO leadership or Head of Programmes experience within complex organisations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams across the full programme lifecycle, from design through to operation
  • Demonstrable experience coordinating dependencies across complex technology, data, process, people and organisational change landscapes
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with confidence engaging at executive level
  • Hands-on, delivery-led approach with the tenacity to resolve issues and maintain programme momentum
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to senior stakeholders
  • Highly organised, self-motivated and collaborative, with the ability to prioritise competing demands across functions and territories
