Position: Programme Manager

Location: Rickmansworth with hybrid working available

Salary: £90-100k (Neg DOE) plus bonus, car/allowance and excellent benefits package

Our Client: Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,400 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting six long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.

They have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects for Thames Water.

The Role: You will report directly to the Operations Manager and your role will be to oversee, lead and support on a program of work including leading Project Managers. Support the design phase and manage the construction and commissioning phases, by setting up contracts and ensuring they are completed in the most efficient manner to the specification, within the time required and within the tender estimate without risk to the health and safety of all concerned while ensuring good customer satisfaction.

Accountable for a portfolio of projects in North & East London and Guildford totalling over £100m.

Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall performance of the projects including contract staffing, supporting the hand-over from design phase to project delivery and for setting overall contract strategy.

Detailed working knowledge and experience of project management practices from scheme conception through to end user acceptance.

Responsible for overall health & safety and reporting to the monthly project management meeting.

Offers support, advice and guidance to the Project Managers on all aspects of the contract and provides assistance with solving problems as required.

Responsible for staff training and development.

Responsible for maintaining Client relations, resolving Client-related problems and developing opportunities for further business.

Promote exceptional safety and delivery quality standards to direct and subcontracted work force

Maintain the Company's reputation on a project by ensuring good relationships are maintained with joint venture partners and suppliers.

Ensure, in conjunction with the Design Manager, that an adequate Technical, Safety and Environmental review is carried out for each project to ensure successful delivery

Ensure that sufficient trained personnel are available for the project and that they are aware of their individual responsibilities

Ensure that the respective Construction and Delivery Leads/Site Managers carry out appropriate reviews and approvals of all MS/RA and Construction delivery plans to support the H&S requirements.

Ensure works procedures are produced to assist with control quality where applicable.

Ensure that all site non-conformities are reported and approximate costs identified.

Ensure all commercial aspects of the project are managed in a timely and proactive way giving accurate forecast and estimates

Understand and implement the Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and Targets.

Be aware of the need to satisfy customer requirements with the aim of enhancing the customers' perception and satisfaction.

Maintain an appropriate practical knowledge and appreciation of all technical disciplines associated with delivering water and wastewater design and build projects.

Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.

Experience: Essential:

Project Management experience in a variety of project sizes and complexity

Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction related discipline.

APMP or equivalent

Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to work in close partnership with clients and end users.

Delivery driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives.

Extensive experience in large scale infrastructure project delivery

Strategic, operational, technical and management skills

Desirable:

Experience in water/wastewater infrastructure

Experience in using Primavera or Power Project.

Chartered or near chartered in a construction discipline

Working knowledge of construction Health & Safety.
