Project Controls Engineer / Cost Analyst
Location: Old Oak Common, London (Hybrid: 3 days site / 2 days WFH)

Our client, Taylor Woodrow, a trusted provider of infrastructure and civil engineering solutions, is seeking a Project Controls Engineer / Cost Analyst to join a high-profile HS2 Old Oak Common Station project, working within a leading JV environment.
This is a key project controls role responsible for integrating cost, programme, progress, quantities, and risk, supporting accurate reporting and informed decision-making across major work packages.
You will act as the bridge between commercial and delivery teams, strengthening cost forecasting, subcontractor performance tracking, and reporting across the project.
What You’ll Be Doing
Cost & Performance Management
- Develop and maintain bottom-up forecasts and performance baselines
- Analyse cost variances, trends, and forecasting movements across work packages
- Produce monthly and weekly performance reports for senior stakeholders
Programme, Progress & Earned Value
- Deliver Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting (SPI/CPI, forecast vs actuals)
- Track quantities, site progress, and production outputs against plan
- Use Primavera P6 to align programme logic with cost and progress
Commercial & Supply Chain Interface
- Challenge subcontractor forecasts, cost assumptions, and productivity
- Support monthly cost reporting, accruals, and change control
- Work closely with commercial, delivery, planning, and risk teams
Reporting & Governance
- Support delivery of performance reporting cycles and client submissions
- Present performance insights, mitigation plans, and recovery strategies
- Ensure compliance with project governance processes
About You
- Strong background in cost control / project controls / cost engineering
- Experience on major infrastructure or complex construction projects
- Proven ability in:
- Cost forecasting & variance analysis
- Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Programme integration (P6 preferred)
- Quantity tracking & progress measurement
- Confident working across commercial and delivery functions
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to challenge data and assumptions
Qualifications
Degree (or equivalent) in:
- Quantity Surveying
- Civil Engineering
- Project Controls or similar
