Project Director – Overview

We are working with one of the UK’s leading technical and energy services providers who specialise in major decarbonisation and net zero solution projects within the commercial and public sector. They deliver decarbonisation projects up to £50million and above in value for sites such as Hospitals, Universities, Museums and many other complex live environments. They have a talented workforce of over 5,000 people and can offer development, progression and role with true autonomy.

They are looking for an experienced Project Director to take strategic and operational ownership of a key client programme or portfolio of projects. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving performance across cost, quality, programme, safety and client satisfaction while leading multi-disciplinary teams from design through to construction, commissioning and handover.

This role will support the delivery of a major programme within a hospital trust in London, a live acute healthcare environment where maintaining operational continuity is critical. They are seeking a Project Director with a strong construction or M&E delivery background who can confidently lead complex projects through challenging site constraints, stakeholder demands and operational interfaces. Significant experience in construction management, programme coordination and the successful delivery of large-scale engineering or infrastructure projects is essential, alongside a strong understanding of CDM Regulations, Building Regulations compliance, and site safety management systems (including RAMS and SMS).

What you'll be doing:

• Leading the successful delivery of complex engineering and energy projects worth up to £50m
• Acting as the senior point of contact for clients, building trusted strategic relationships
• Providing governance and leadership across commercial, financial, operational and QSHE performance
• Managing and developing Project Managers and Site Managers to create high-performing teams
• Driving continuous improvement, innovation and sustainability across project delivery
• Supporting business growth through client development, bids and future opportunities

Project Director – Requirements

• Proven experience leading major project portfolios within engineering, construction or energy environments
• Strong construction or MEP management and project delivery expertise on complex sites
• Strong commercial acumen with P&L responsibility and contract management expertise
• Experience managing senior stakeholders and multi-disciplinary delivery teams
• In-depth knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts and the full EPC project lifecycle
• Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, Building Regulations, RAMS and site safety systems

Project Director – Salary & Remuneration

• Salary circa £120K (open to negotiation DOE)
