Project Engineer | Manufacturing | Capital Projects

Salary: Up to £46,000 per annum DOE + bonus
Working Pattern: Mon – Friday Days Only

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a well-established manufacturing business that is investing heavily in its site, equipment and production capability. They are looking for a proactive Project Engineer to join their engineering team and take responsibility for delivering a varied portfolio of capital and improvement projects.
This is a hands-on project engineering role where you’ll have the opportunity to influence safety, reliability, capacity and continuous improvement, whilst managing projects from relatively small investments through to potentially £1m+ programmes.
You’ll work closely with wider teams, giving you genuine ownership and visibility across the business.
As the Project Engineer you will be:
- Managing multiple engineering and capital projects simultaneously, from concept through to completion
- Developing project plans, budgets, schedules and risk registers
- Preparing capital expenditure proposals and supporting ROI/business case calculations
- Obtaining and evaluating supplier and contractor quotations
- Managing contractors, suppliers and external engineering partners
- Monitoring project costs, timescales and progress against agreed plans
- Providing regular project updates to key stakeholders
- Supporting procurement and installation of new equipment and services
- Managing commissioning, implementation and final project handover
- Identifying opportunities to improve plant safety, reliability, efficiency and manufacturing capacity
- Working with site engineering and operations teams to deliver practical, sustainable solutions
- Producing and working with engineering drawings, including AutoCAD
Experience we are looking for:
- A Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification
- Around 5 years’ experience within an automated or semi-automated manufacturing environment
- Proven experience delivering capital investment projects
- Experience working with site infrastructure and manufacturing equipment
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements within an industrial environment
- Experience using or creating AutoCAD drawings
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong commercial awareness, including budgets, quotations and cost control
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A structured, organised approach to managing multiple projects
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- A proactive approach and genuine continuous improvement mindset
