EMBS Talent is recruiting a Project Engineer for a growing precision aerospace manufacturer. This is a newly created role reflecting continued company growth, offering the opportunity to take real ownership of quality on new aerospace parts from initial design right through to production and delivery.

Working closely with the Projects and Special Processes team, you will play a key role in supporting the business on process, documentation and ensuring alignment with projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Partnership & Alignment: Partner with the Manufacturing Manager and cross-functional teams to drive shared Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), Quality, Cost, and Delivery objectives through daily operational reviews and floor walks.

  • Issue Resolution & Ownership: Represent the Manufacturing Engineering function in daily ops meetings, taking full ownership of engineering-related actions and cross-departmental milestones.

  • Process Optimisation & Flow: Analyse value stream constraints and lead continuous improvement and structured problem-solving initiatives to eliminate bottlenecks and enhance throughput.

  • Manufacturing Documentation: Create, update, and manage version-controlled technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, stage drawings, and setup packs.

  • Tooling & Equipment Availability: Oversee the design, procurement, and implementation of tooling required for safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations.

  • Continuous Improvement & Project Management: Manage engineering initiatives from root-cause analysis (PFMEA) through to execution—collaborating with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to integrate new technologies and process improvements.

  • Audit & Compliance Support: Participate in internal and external quality audits, driving corrective action plans to address and resolve any identified compliance gaps.


Essential Requirements

  • Technical Expertise: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Laser Engineer/Programmer. Multi-axis Laser Programming experience is essential. 

  • Industry Background: Previous experience in regulated, high-precision manufacturing sectors (e.g., Automotive, Aerospace & Defence or Power Generation.

  • Core Competencies: Strong background in sheet metal fabrication, general engineering principles, and process setup.

  • CAD/CAM Proficiency: Hands-on experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).

  • Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Proven ability to perform root-cause analysis, implement robust solutions, and drive continuous process improvements and change management.
