The Role
As a Project Engineer, you will ensure projects are implemented, executed, controlled and completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Working with the management team, you’ll support project management policies and procedures, including health and safety responsibilities.
You will:
- Facilitate communication of project scope, goals and deliverables to the team
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to manage progress
- Engage collaboration practices to achieve project goals
- Complete costing exercises, including drafting quotes and bids
- Define project tasks and resource requirements, and implement agreed project plans
- Review, communicate and track project timelines and deliverables
- Provide direction and support to the project team
- Produce and manage project documentation (Project Briefs, O&M Manuals, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Technical Queries, Concessions, Production Permits)
- Generate and compile Lifetime Quality Records (LTQR) and technical files to required standards
- Support quality assurance in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
- Implement changes to achieve project outputs and complete project evaluations
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with data quality standards and safety obligations
- Proven practical engineering experience delivering installations, refurbishment and commissioning to specification
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to maintain tolerance and fits
- Experience undertaking risk assessments, costing exercises, documentation control and change management
- Strong knowledge of stakeholder engagement and lifecycle documentation
- Working knowledge aligned to ISO9001 and health & safety compliance
- Proven ability to write method statements, technical reports, and operations and maintenance manuals
- NVQ Level 3 plus an Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent)
- Desirable: HNC/HND, engineering degree, recognised project management fundamentals and IOSH Managing Safely/Working Safely, plus experience with AutoCAD/Autodesk tools (Inventor and Fusion)
