Project Engineer

The Opportunity
A leading specialist construction contractor is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join their project team on an immediate basis at Cambridgeshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer with a background in civil engineering, structures, groundworks or general construction to join a well-established contractor on a significant project.
 
The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and wider site team, taking responsibility for the technical and engineering aspects of the works and helping ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the required specifications.
 
The Role

• Managing the engineering delivery of works on site
• Setting out and checking works against drawings and specifications
• Reviewing construction drawings and identifying technical issues
• Raising and managing RFIs and technical queries
• Liaising with the design team, consultants and subcontractors
• Coordinating engineering information and ensuring the site team has the latest information
• Supporting the planning and sequencing of construction activities
• Monitoring quality and ensuring works are completed in accordance with project requirements
• Producing and maintaining accurate as-built information
• Working closely with the Project Manager and Site Management team
• Assisting with technical problem solving and project coordination

 
The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Project Engineer within construction or civil engineering
• Experience working on civils, groundworks, structures or major construction projects
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Good setting-out and engineering knowledge
• Experience dealing with subcontractors and design teams
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently while supporting the wider project team
• Relevant engineering qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience

Candidates with experience in RC frame, reinforced concrete, groundworks, infrastructure or structural projects will be of particular interest.
