The Opportunity
A Project Engineer role has opened up within a growing UK team based in Salford Quays. You'll manage fire protection projects from start to finish, working on a varied portfolio ranging from £100k to £9m in value and lasting anywhere from two months to 18 months. Projects are based across the UK, including Scotland, London and occasionally Cornwall, with all travel expenses covered and travel managed sensibly to protect work-life balance.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop project plans, timelines and budgets alongside management
- Oversee delivery of engineering projects, managing resources and deliverables
- Ensure activities comply with company policies, procedures and quality standards
- Monitor progress and adjust plans to keep projects on track
- Report project status to clients, team members and senior management
- Manage risks and issues, addressing problems before they impact delivery
- Coordinate contractors, subcontractors and suppliers
- Contribute to design reviews and provide technical input
- Support and mentor junior engineers
What We're Looking For
- Strong background in fire sprinkler systems or similar industries – Fire Safety, M&E, Oil & Gas, Piping
- Experience managing projects end-to-end, ideally across multiple projects at once
- Around 4+ years' experience preferred (open to less experienced candidates for the lower end of the salary range)
- Comfortable travelling to sites across the UK
- LPC qualifications desirable (or willingness to work towards them)
- Design, M&E or pipework experience is a bonus, though not essential
- A team player who communicates well and takes ownership
