Senior Project Engineering Manager – Glasgow – Competitive Salary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Engineering Manager to join a growing EMEA team delivering complex energy infrastructure projects. This role focuses on Electrical Grid, Substation, and Battery Energy Storage System developments across Medium and High Voltage networks.

You will play a key role in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, managing project delivery, and interfacing directly with clients to ensure the successful execution of technically demanding projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate engineering delivery across multiple projects of varying size and complexity
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and technical outputs
  • Act as the primary technical interface with clients, managing scope changes and project requirements
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on engineering standards, design practices, and compliance
  • Oversee and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians
  • Support business development activities, including proposals and client engagement
  • Coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive project performance, quality, and timely delivery

Skills & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Significant industry experience
  • Proven expertise in substation design and electrical infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of:
    • UK Grid Code
    • TSO/DNO requirements
    • UK power utilities landscape
  • Demonstrated experience in project execution and delivery ownership
  • Ability to confidently engage with clients on technical matters
  • Strong knowledge of Medium and High Voltage network design principles
  • Understanding of construction, procurement, and contract management
  • Experience with project controls, estimating, and proposal development
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
