About the Company

Established in 2000, it has a workforce of around 90 employees and delivers volume and bespoke joinery, interior fit-out and refurbishment projects across retail, restaurants, museums, heritage and commercial sectors, with project values ranging from approximately £100,000 to £1 million+.

Why Join Them

The business has a long-standing reputation within the interior fit-out and joinery sector, with a substantial manufacturing operation supporting its contracting activities. The successful candidate will join an established team working across a varied project portfolio, with the opportunity to manage projects involving both in-house manufacturing and on-site installation.

The role provides exposure to technically detailed projects and a broad range of clients, designers, architects and main contractors. There is also scope to take greater responsibility as experience within the business develops.

About the Role

As Project Manager - Bespoke Joinery, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering projects from pre-start through to completion. The role requires someone who understands the relationship between joinery manufacture, design, logistics and site installation and can keep all elements moving to programme.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing bespoke joinery and interior fit-out projects from award through to completion.
  • Coordinating projects involving in-house joinery manufacturing and site installation.
  • Working closely with clients, architects, designers, main contractors and subcontractors.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and project information.
  • Liaising with the manufacturing team to ensure joinery is produced to the required specification and programme.
  • Coordinating production, delivery and installation schedules.
  • Monitoring project programmes, costs and progress.
  • Identifying potential delays, design issues and project risks and taking appropriate action.
  • Managing variations and ensuring changes are properly recorded and communicated.
  • Attending site meetings and project progress meetings where required.
  • Coordinating site installation teams and other relevant trades.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered to the required quality, programme and commercial expectations.
  • Maintaining clear communication between the office, factory, site teams and project stakeholders.
  • Supporting project handover and completion.
  • Ensuring appropriate health, safety and quality standards are maintained throughout the project.

The ideal candidate will have previous Project Management experience within bespoke joinery, specialist joinery, shopfitting, interior fit-out or a similar environment. A strong understanding of how joinery projects are designed, manufactured and installed is important.

Experience managing projects involving high-quality bespoke joinery, complex interiors or fast-paced fit-out environments would be particularly relevant.

Summary

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join an established Mansfield-based business with its own substantial joinery manufacturing facility and a varied portfolio of interior projects. The role would suit someone who enjoys managing projects from manufacture through to installation and wants to take responsibility for delivering high-quality bespoke work across the UK.
