Project Manager - The Company
An established and growing architectural design and build consultancy is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their construction department in Clapham.
Specialising in residential design and construction projects across London, the company provides clients with an integrated service from architectural design through to completed build. Due to continued expansion, they are looking for a proactive Project Manager who can take responsibility for projects throughout the construction lifecycle.
Project Manager - The Role
The successful Project Manager will deliver residential construction projects from start to finish, reporting directly to the Build Director and working alongside Senior Project Managers.
The Project Manager will regularly visit sites to monitor progress against architectural drawings and specifications, identifying and resolving issues through coordination with contractors, structural engineers, Building Control and the internal Design Team.
Additional Project Manager responsibilities will include:
Preparing and maintaining construction project plans
Monitoring workmanship, quality and programme on site
Coordinating contractors, consultants and other construction professionals
Ensuring projects comply with Party Wall obligations
Carrying out quality inspections and preparing certification reports ahead of payment milestones
Producing internal project reports for the Build Director
Collating Completion Packs and project documentation at handover
Supporting and working closely with Senior Project Managers throughout delivery
Project Manager - Requirements
The ideal Project Manager will have:
A degree in Architecture, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Civil/Structural Engineering or another relevant construction discipline
A minimum of 3 years' construction project management experience
Strong knowledge of residential building and construction methods
Experience interpreting architectural drawings and specifications
Excellent organisation, communication and client-facing skills
A diligent approach to quality, compliance and project documentation
Line management experience would be advantageous
Relevant professional qualifications or progression towards RICS, CIOB, RIBA, APM or equivalent would be beneficial
Project Manager - Salary & Benefits
The successful Project Manager will receive a salary of £30,000 - £50,000, dependent on experience, with a salary and progression review following successful completion of the six-month probation period.
