CNX Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Project Construction Manager to take a leading role on a major school construction project in Middlesbrough.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional with a strong background in delivering complex building projects, who is confident taking responsibility for the day-to-day management, coordination and successful delivery of a project.

The Role

As Project Construction Manager, you will take overall responsibility for managing construction activities on site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and to the required quality standards.

You will work closely with the project team, subcontractors, consultants and client representatives to coordinate the works and ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day construction activities on the project.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, site teams and specialist trades.
  • Drive the project programme and ensure key milestones are achieved.
  • Coordinate works across multiple trades and disciplines.
  • Monitor quality, workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
  • Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with health & safety requirements.
  • Attend and lead progress meetings where required.
  • Work closely with the commercial team to monitor project progress and costs.
  • Review programmes, RAMS, drawings and technical information.
  • Identify and resolve construction issues proactively.
  • Maintain strong communication with the wider project team and stakeholders.
  • Ensure site documentation and reporting requirements are maintained.
  • Support the successful handover and completion of the project.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager, Project Manager, Senior Site Manager or similar.
  • Strong experience delivering building/construction projects.
  • Previous experience working on education, public sector or similarly complex projects would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing and programme management.
  • Excellent subcontractor and site team management skills.
  • A strong understanding of health & safety and quality requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to resolve issues and keep projects moving.
  • Relevant construction qualifications and CSCS certification.

Location

Middlesbrough, North East England

Candidates must be able to reliably travel to the project for the duration of the contract.
