A leading independent property and construction consultancy is seeking a Project Manager to join its Birmingham team with approximately three years of consultancy experience. This Project Manager will support a major telecommunications client while also working across hotels, residential developments, schools, film studios and other varied building projects. The successful Project Manager will join a collaborative team offering structured professional development, hybrid working and flexible working hours.

The Project Manager will manage projects through pre-contract and post-contract stages, working closely with clients, consultants and contractors. This role would suit an ambitious Project Manager who has completed an RICS-accredited degree and is committed to achieving chartered status. As the Project Manager, you will gain responsibility for your own commissions while receiving guidance from experienced senior colleagues.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.



The Project Manager's role

The Project Manager will support and lead projects from initial briefing and feasibility through design, procurement, construction and completion. Responsibilities will include preparing programmes, managing risk registers, coordinating design information and producing clear client reports.

The Project Manager will organise and chair meetings, track actions and coordinate architects, engineers, cost consultants and contractors. You will assist with procurement, consultant appointments, tender processes, change control and contract administration while ensuring projects remain aligned with the agreed programme, budget and quality expectations.

The position includes work for a major telecommunications client alongside a diverse portfolio of hotel, residential, education and film-studio projects across Birmingham and the wider Midlands.



The Project Manager

The successful Project Manager will have:

  • Approximately three years' project management experience within a construction consultancy.
  • An RICS-accredited degree in Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or a related discipline.
  • A clear desire to achieve MRICS chartered status.
  • Experience supporting projects through pre-contract and post-contract stages.
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts and common procurement routes.
  • Strong communication, organisation and client-facing skills.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams.
  • The ability to manage several projects and competing priorities.
