Project Manager (Construction)

Large Design & Build Project | Main Contractor

A well-established main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a large design-and-build project in Cardiff. The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the scheme, coordinating the project team and ensuring it is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards

The Role

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project
• Lead the site management team and coordinate design, commercial and operational functions
• Develop, monitor and drive the construction programme
• Manage subcontractor performance and resolve delivery issues
• Maintain strong control of health and safety, quality, cost and risk
• Chair progress meetings and provide clear reporting to senior management
• Manage client, consultant and key stakeholder relationships through to completion and handover

About You

• Proven experience as a Project Manager for a main contractor
• A successful track record of leading construction projects valued at £20m or above
• Strong design-and-build delivery experience
• Excellent leadership, programme management and commercial awareness
• Confident client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
• Relevant construction qualification, with SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid
