Project Manager-EA Works-Birmingham-Gloucester

Due to an increase in workload, our client, a top Regional Contractor are looking for an experienced Project Manager to support ECI, planning and pre-construction management on a number of Environment Agency flood defence schemes in the Birmingham and Gloucester regions.

The role will involve acting as the link between the client, designers, consultants, specialist subcontractors and construction team, helping to develop the project through ECI and into delivery.

Duties to include:

• Review requirements, scope, specifications and existing design
• Develop the pre-construction programme and key decision dates
• Coordinate design development and identify required information
• Review buildability and propose alternative construction methods
• Identify and manage early-stage risks, constraints and opportunities
• Develop preliminary construction methodologies
• Provide input into cost planning, procurement and programme development
• Lead/coordinate early contractor input into design workshops
• Develop construction and logistics strategies
• Plan site establishment requirements
• Maintain the pre-construction risk and opportunity register
• Challenge designs where safer, faster or more practical solutions can be achieved
• Ensure construction experience and lessons learned are incorporated into the design

To be considered, you will have a minimum of an HNC in Civil Engineering and will hold SMSTS and CSCS certification to your name. You must also have EA or Water and Heavy Civils experience gained with Main Contractors. You will also be prepared to travel to sites where required.

In return, a top day rate is on offer which is Outside IR35 and comes with an immediate start and minimum 6 month contract with lots of other opportunities in the pipeline also.
