Invision Recruitment are currently working with an established specialist fit-out contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of fast-track retail refurbishment and rollout projects.

The successful candidate will ideally come from a food retail, supermarket or high-volume retail fit-out background and will have experience managing multiple projects concurrently from pre-construction through to handover.

Projects range in value from approximately £100,000 to £4 million and are predominantly located across London and the surrounding areas, with occasional travel further afield.

Typical Scope of Works

Projects will include a variety of retail refurbishment and fit-out packages including:

• Mechanical and electrical installations
• Refrigeration works
• Ceilings, walls and partitions
• Vinyl and tiled flooring
• Gondola and shelving systems
• Live-store refurbishment
• Phased and out-of-hours works

Key Responsibilities

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall delivery of multiple retail projects, including:

• Producing and managing project programmes using Microsoft Project
• Preparing phasing plans and sequencing works
• Overseeing Site Managers and site teams
• Attending and chairing client progress meetings
• Coordinating design and technical review meetings
• Reviewing Health & Safety documentation and site compliance
• Managing material and plant procurement
• Monitoring programme, quality and project progress
• Supporting the commercial team and Project QS
• Obtaining subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Recording client variations and changes
• Assisting with monthly valuations
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Project Manager within retail fit out or refurbishment
• Strong experience delivering supermarket, food retail or live-store projects
• Strong programming and planning skills
• A good understanding of M&E and refrigeration packages
