FMSS Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a global facilities management provider to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their growing Aberdeen team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across a portfolio of technically challenging projects within critical environments, including the oil & gas sector. We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects from the very beginning — from identifying opportunities and pricing works through to successful delivery and handover.
If you're currently delivering projects within Facilities Management, Building Services or M&E and want more autonomy and responsibility, this could be the role for you.
The Role
This is far more than a traditional Project Manager position.
You'll be responsible for managing projects from initial enquiry through to completion, building scopes of work, producing quotations, securing client approval and then leading the delivery of the project through to final handover.
You'll work closely with clients, contractors and internal engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from initial enquiry through to completion and handover.
- Carry out site surveys and develop detailed project scopes.
- Produce quotations, estimates and project costings.
- Convert opportunities into approved purchase orders.
- Develop project programmes and manage delivery against timescales.
- Manage project budgets and commercial performance.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal engineering teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Manage project documentation, reporting and compliance requirements.
- Ensure all works comply with CDM Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
- Identify additional project opportunities across existing client sites.
About You
We're keen to speak with technically minded Project Managers who have experience within Facilities Management, Building Services or M&E environments.
Ideally you'll have experience pricing and delivering projects yourself rather than simply managing projects that have already been won.
You'll likely have experience in:
- Facilities Management or Building Services projects.
- Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) project delivery.
- Building project scopes and specifications.
- Estimating and pricing project works.
- Managing projects from enquiry through to completion.
- Commercial awareness and budget management.
- Contractor and stakeholder management.
- Working within live commercial or critical environments.
A technical background, whether Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services, would be highly advantageous.
