A well-established refurbishment contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to oversee social housing refurbishment programmes across Manchester.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in social housing refurbishment, ideally with experience delivering Decent Homes programmes across both void and tenanted properties, including kitchens, bathrooms and external works.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of refurbishment programmes, managing commercial, operational and client-facing aspects of the projects.

  • Manage the successful delivery of social housing refurbishment programmes.
  • Oversee works across both void and tenanted properties.
  • Manage kitchen, bathroom and external refurbishment programmes.
  • Take responsibility for programme, budget, quality and health & safety.
  • Manage and coordinate Site Managers, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
  • Liaise with clients, housing associations, residents and other key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Resident Liaison Officers to ensure high standards of resident engagement and customer care.
  • Monitor project progress, costs and performance against agreed targets.
  • Lead regular progress and client meetings.
  • Manage project risks, variations and commercial issues.
  • Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with contractual and client requirements.
  • Produce and maintain project documentation, reports and programme updates.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous Project Management experience within social housing refurbishment.
  • Strong experience delivering Decent Homes or planned maintenance programmes.
  • Experience working across both void and tenanted properties.
  • Knowledge of kitchen, bathroom and external refurbishment works.
  • Experience managing multiple teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong commercial and contract management skills.
  • Excellent client and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and quality requirements.
  • Relevant construction qualifications, ideally SMSTS and CSCS.
  • A full UK driving licence.
