Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Project Manager (M&E) to lead the tactical development and delivery of capital projects and Minor Works (MAC), ensuring a consistently high standard of project delivery that supports business growth and strengthens their position within the project market.
Job Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with a background in construction, engineering, or the built environment to oversee the successful delivery of capital projects and Minor Works from inception through to completion. The role requires strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage resources, risk, compliance, governance, and supply chain performance across multiple projects.
Working within a government contract environment, you will be responsible for maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring project objectives are achieved, and driving high standards of delivery. You will also support the development of project opportunities within existing customer accounts while maintaining robust commercial and operational controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage capital projects and Minor Works (MAC) throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery from concept to completion.
- Lead the tactical development and delivery of multiple projects and programmes.
- Support the growth of project opportunities within existing customer accounts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, operational teams, key accounts, supply chain partners, and customers.
- Maintain accountability for project financial performance in line with business objectives.
- Develop effective delivery models and manage project resources efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with commercial governance requirements, risk management processes, and regulatory obligations.
- Implement and maintain best practice processes and procedures to achieve high standards of project delivery and service.
Person Specification
- Demonstrable experience operating at Project Manager level within the building projects and facilities management industry.
- Experience within petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or R&D controlled environments is desirable.
- Strong expertise within a construction, engineering, or built environment discipline.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects or programmes valued between £500k and £1m+, and above.
- Ideally educated to HNC level or equivalent in a technical or management discipline.
- Experience working with RIBA stages.
- Knowledge and practical experience of CDM regulations and Health & Safety compliance.
- Experience preparing project estimates and presenting tender documentation to customers.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, APMP, PMP, or equivalent.
- IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS qualification (essential).
- NEBOSH qualification (desirable).
- Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS and CTC security clearance.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
