H9 Technical
Project Manager
H9 Talent Solutions have partnered with a leading technology supplier, you will own delivery of one major UK construction contract and several global projects at once—so plants hit emissions, schedule and performance guarantees. You report to the Managing Director (UK) and sit as a core member of Global Engineering. The midlands office is a small project-engineering hub (typically one major UK build plus several overseas contracts). You work daily with a 5–6 person process team plus boiler, mechanical, piping, EC&I, procurement and site. International travel is required. You will use existing design manuals, calculation tools and group project processes; you will also help improve them.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver the live UK contract and concurrent group projects on agreed milestones, within budget and to contractual performance guarantees.
- Drive sales-to-execution handover so technical scope, interfaces and risks are locked before detailed design starts.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering (boiler, mechanical, piping, EC&I), procurement and site so design packages and vendor documents stay on the critical path.
- Run HAZOPs, design reviews and risk registers; close actions before they become site delays or claims.
- Lead commissioning, performance testing and first-year optimisation so plants meet emission and output commitments.
- Integrate UK project controls with the global engineering platform and capture lessons into standards and tools.
- Keep customers, MD (UK) and group stakeholders aligned with clear progress, change and forecast reporting.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven delivery of industrial energy or process-plant projects from award through commissioning (waste-to-energy, biomass or similar combustion plants strongly preferred).
- Ability to manage multi-package, multi-office scopes with tight interfaces on industrial scale projects.
- Experience preparing and controlling schedules, cost forecasts, change and risk on EPC or major equipment contracts.
- Comfort working with PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, vendor packages and HAZOP outputs—not as a designer, but as the person who keeps them on time and consistent.
- Clear written and verbal communication with customers, suppliers and senior engineers; willingness to travel internationally.
- Engineering degree or equivalent project-engineering background in a related industrial sector.
