Our client is a highly respected engineering business operating within the building services sector, providing specialist mechanical solutions and aftermarket support to some of the UK's most prestigious commercial developments. The company works alongside major contractors, developers and end users, delivering exceptional service throughout the lifecycle of installed systems.
Due to continued growth and increasing project demands, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their operations team. This is a client-facing position responsible for managing a wide range of aftersales, maintenance, remedial and service-related projects across occupied commercial buildings.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will take ownership of projects from planning and scheduling through to completion and client handover. You will coordinate contractor teams, manage customer expectations, ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, and oversee project delivery to agreed timescales and standards.
Working closely with technical, quality, commercial and operations teams, you will be responsible for ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest levels of customer satisfaction. The role offers significant autonomy and would suit an organised, customer-focused project professional who enjoys managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage service, maintenance, remedial and aftersales projects from initiation through to completion.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors and customers to ensure works are delivered on time.
- Schedule resources, site visits and contractor activities.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety requirements including CDM regulations, RAMS, permits and site inductions.
- Monitor project progress and maintain accurate records, reports and site documentation.
- Review site information, identify trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders to resolve issues effectively.
- Escalate technical, operational or commercial issues where required.
- Track project actions through to successful completion.
- Provide regular updates and performance reporting to senior management.
The Candidate:
- Project Management experience within Building Services, HVAC, Mechanical & Electrical, Facilities Management or a similar engineering environment.
- Experience managing contractors and coordinating work on customer sites.
- Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Good understanding of health & safety legislation including CDM regulations, RAMS and permit systems.
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 and project or CRM systems.
- SMSTS qualification would be advantageous.
- CSCS Card or willingness to obtain one.
- Building Services, HVAC or M&E industry knowledge highly desirable.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering organisation where you can play a key role in delivering high-profile projects while developing your career within a stable and expanding business.
