Location - Home-based with travel across Central Belt Scotland
Rate - £354.58 per day via umbrella

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage a portfolio of coal mining hazard, enquiry and subsidence projects across Scotland.
The successful candidate will be home-based but should expect significant travel throughout Scotland's former coalfield areas, including Ayrshire, Lanarkshire, Fife and the Lothians. Site visits and incident response activities are expected to account for approximately 75% of the working week.
Project Manager - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a portfolio of coal mining hazard, subsidence and remediation projects.
- Develop and implement project plans, priorities and resource requirements.
- Ensure investigations are completed to determine liability where appropriate.
- Manage consultants and contractors undertaking investigations, research and remediation works.
- Administer and manage NEC contracts, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Undertake site inspections, monitoring, sampling and field investigations.
- Prepare technical evidence and submissions for claims referred to arbitration or tribunals.
- Act as a key public-facing representative, responding to enquiries from members of the public and stakeholders.
- Participate in the emergency hazard response service.
- Support financial management, budgeting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Undertake Designer responsibilities under CDM regulations where required.
Project Manager - REQUIREMENTS
- Proven Project Management experience within engineering, infrastructure, remediation, environmental, geotechnical or mining-related projects.
- Experience managing contractors and consultants through NEC contract frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Experience delivering field-based projects and conducting site investigations.
- NEC3 Accreditation
- NEC4 Accreditation
- A recognised Chartered Qualification such as: MRICS / CEng / Or equivalent professional chartered status
