An arm's-length Government body are seeking a highly organised and experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex projects from initiation to closure, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards. The role will provide leadership, governance, stakeholder management, risk oversight, and strategic delivery expertise across a portfolio of business and technology change initiatives.

As part of the Delivery Team, the Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects and initiatives effectively. They will ensure that time, cost, and quality are actively monitored and managed throughout delivery, while ensuring appropriate governance frameworks are followed.

The role is permanent and based 2 days a week in South London on a salary of around £70,000pa.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, high-profile projects.
  • Develop and maintain project management plans, financial budgets/ forecasts and resource plans.
  • Ensure project objectives, scope, benefits, and success criteria are clearly defined and managed.
  • Monitor project performance and take corrective action where required to maintain delivery commitments.
  • Manage project dependencies, assumptions, issues, risks, and decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, sponsors, business leaders, and delivery teams.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and decision-making forums.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and negotiate solutions to delivery challenges.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Manage project change requests through appropriate governance processes.
  • Provide leadership and ownership taking responsibility to drive projects to successful delivery.

Experience Required:

  • Experience delivering complex business and technology projects within structured project management frameworks.
  • Minimum 6 years in Project Management
  • A recognised Project Management qualification / certification. E.g. PRINCE2, Agile certifications.
  • Proven track record of managing projects with that impact multiple stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in project governance, risk management, financial management, and benefits realisation.
  • Demonstrable experience managing third-party suppliers and delivery partners.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including experience working with executive-level audiences.
  • Excellent planning and co-ordination capabilities utilising Agile and/ or Waterfall methodologies

The ideal candidate will be a hands on Project Manager, working on business led projects, who has worked with senior stakeholders including C-suite stakeholders to deliver successful change projects.
