Job Title: Project Manager – Groundworks

Rate: Negotiable (DOE)

Project Manager – Commercial Groundworks – Walsall

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join an established groundworks subcontractor on a commercial groundworks package in Walsall.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager looking for a 3–5 month package, with further guaranteed work available in the local area for the right candidate. The client is looking to interview ASAP, with a Monday start available.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the groundworks package, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme. The role will also involve regular client meetings, so the successful candidate must be confident and professional in a client-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of the commercial groundworks package.

  • Manage Site Managers, Foremen, labour and subcontractors.

  • Coordinate labour, plant and materials.

  • Monitor programme, progress and quality.

  • Liaise regularly with the client and wider project team.

  • Attend and contribute to client meetings.

  • Maintain high Health & Safety standards.

  • Manage project documentation and site records.

  • Resolve site issues and maintain progress.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within groundworks.

  • Strong background working for a groundworks subcontractor.

  • Commercial groundworks experience.

  • Confident and professional in a client-facing role.

  • Strong IT literacy and comfortable using project management systems.

  • SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, any other relevant tickets.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
