Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a growing Cheshire-based systems integrator delivering complex controls and automation projects across the process, utilities, manufacturing and nuclear sectors.
The successful Project Manager will have experience delivering industrial automation, control systems, PLC/SCADA or systems integration projects, ideally from the supplier/integrator side.
You’ll take commercial and technical responsibility for projects from initial scope and engineering through to installation, commissioning and final handover, working closely with customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key skills and experience required for the Project Manager role include:
- Proven experience delivering controls, automation or systems integration projects
- Technical understanding of industrial control systems, ideally including PLC, SCADA and associated automation technologies
- Experience managing projects through the full engineering lifecycle from scope and design through to FAT, installation, commissioning and handover
- Strong customer and stakeholder management skills
- Commercially aware with experience managing project budgets, costs, stage payments and contractual obligations
- Comfortable coordinating engineering resources, schedules, priorities and project deliverables
- Background within a systems integrator, automation business or engineering solutions provider would be particularly relevant
- APM, PRINCE2 or similar Project Management qualification would be advantageous
- Full UK driving licence and able to work in the UK without sponsorship
Key aspects of the Project Manager position include:
- Commercial and technical responsibility for the successful delivery of automation and control system projects
- Manage customer requirements, project scope, engineering deliverables, budgets and timescales
- Coordinate Controls, Software and wider engineering resources throughout each project
- Monitor project costs, stage payments and commercial performance
- Identify project risks and resolve technical, commercial and delivery issues
- Support projects through FAT, installation, commissioning and final customer handover
- Deliver projects across a varied blue-chip customer base within the process, utilities, manufacturing and nuclear sectors
The company has grown consistently over a number of years and the Project Manager position has been created as part of its continued expansion.
You’ll be joining a highly regarded engineering team working from modern, high-spec offices, with the opportunity to deliver technically interesting automation projects across several industries rather than being tied to one sector.
There is a genuine career path, structured personal development and support towards Chartered status for candidates looking to achieve it.
The role is predominantly office based with occasional customer site visits.
The Cheshire office is well connected by road and public transport and is commutable from Warrington, Runcorn, Widnes, Northwich, Chester, Stockport, Manchester and Liverpool.
If you’re an experienced Project Manager from a controls, automation or systems integration background, please send your CV for an immediate response.
