The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major warehouse refurbishment project in Glasgow.
This is a hands-on role for a confident construction professional who can take ownership of project delivery from pre-construction through to completion. You will be responsible for coordinating the project team, managing programme, cost, quality and risk, and ensuring the works are delivered safely and to the required standards.
Previous experience working under NEC contracts is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the warehouse refurbishment project from mobilisation through to completion.
- Manage the project programme, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
- Administer and manage the project in accordance with the relevant NEC contract.
- Manage NEC processes including early warnings, compensation events, programme submissions and contractual communications.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, variations and commercial performance.
- Identify and proactively manage project risks and opportunities.
- Ensure health, safety, quality and environmental requirements are maintained throughout the project.
- Chair and attend project meetings, providing clear progress reporting to senior management.
- Manage procurement, subcontractor performance and site logistics.
- Drive the successful handover and completion of the refurbishment works.
About You:
You will be an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in construction, refurbishment or fit-out projects. You will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining a clear focus on programme, cost, quality and safety.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within construction/refurbishment.
- Demonstrable experience delivering warehouse, industrial, commercial or similar refurbishment projects.
- Strong NEC contract experience - essential.
- Good understanding of NEC contract administration and project management processes.
- Strong programme, risk and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Relevant construction/project management qualification or equivalent experience.
- Desirable
- Experience managing live warehouse or industrial environments.
- Experience with refurbishment projects involving complex logistics and phased works.
- Membership of a relevant professional body such as MCIOB, RICS or APM.
- Relevant health and safety qualification.
