Project Manager – Passive Fire Protection

Location: Cambridge
Salary: £45,000–£65,000 per annum, depending on experience
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established and growing passive fire protection contractor, delivering projects across Cambridge and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded and organised Project Manager with a strong background in passive fire protection, fire stopping, or specialist construction to take responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to successful completion.

You will manage multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage passive fire protection and fire stopping projects from commencement through to completion.
  • Take overall responsibility for project delivery, programme, costs, quality and client satisfaction.
  • Liaise with clients, main contractors, subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Coordinate site teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered to programme.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, variations and commercial performance.
  • Ensure works comply with relevant fire safety legislation, British Standards and project specifications.
  • Manage project risks, documentation, quality and handover requirements.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within passive fire protection, fire stopping or a closely related construction discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of passive fire protection systems and installation methods.
  • Experience managing construction projects from start to finish.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • A good understanding of health & safety and quality requirements.

Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS, IOSH, NEBOSH, fire-stopping qualifications or construction/project management qualifications would be advantageous.
