Project Manager / Contracts Manager - Joinery Contractor (Preston) An established and respected joinery contractor based in the Preston area is seeking a professional PM/CM to oversee the smooth running of projects across the Northwest and Lancaster  and  This is a key role within a growing business that prides itself on quality craftsmanship, reliability, and long‑standing client relationships.

The Role

You will take ownership of multiple joinery-led projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard. Working closely with clients, site teams, and senior management, you'll coordinate resources, manage subcontractors, and maintain full control of project progress from pre‑start through to handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day‑to‑day project operations across the Northwest

     

  • Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers

     

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and company procedures

     

  • Maintain strong communication with clients and stakeholders

     

  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards

     

  • Resolve issues proactively to keep projects running smoothly

     

  • Produce and maintain accurate project documentation and reports

     

About You

  • Strong joinery background with hands-on experience in the trade

     

  • Proven track record in project or contracts management

     

  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. NVQ level 3 Joinery, SMSTS or SSSTS

     

    Based in the Preston area close to where the offices are based 

     

     

     

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

     

  • Ability to lead teams and build positive working relationships

     

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach
