Project Manager – Government Projects

Location: Westminster, London
Contract: 6 Months
Day Rate: Up to £450 per day either CIS or PAYE Umbrella
Clearance: SC Clearance highly desirable

The Opportunity

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading national Facilities Management provider, delivering projects across a prestigious government estate in Westminster.

The role will involve managing works within Grade I listed buildings, with a particular focus on mechanical and roofing projects. You will take responsibility for projects from initial planning and procurement through to delivery and handover, working closely with the client, contractors and internal teams.

This is an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £450 per day depending on experience.

The Role

  • Manage projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery on programme and within budget.
  • Oversee mechanical, roofing and associated refurbishment works within Grade I listed government buildings.
  • Develop and manage project plans, programmes, budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinate contractors, supply chain partners and site teams.
  • Work closely with client representatives and key stakeholders across the government estate.
  • Support procurement and tender activities alongside the Quantity Surveyor.
  • Ensure compliance with CCS framework requirements and public sector governance.
  • Manage project risks, change control and variations.
  • Monitor performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs.
  • Produce regular project reports, forecasts and progress updates.
  • Ensure health & safety and compliance standards are maintained throughout delivery.

About You

  • Proven Project Management experience within Facilities Management, construction or government environments.
  • Strong experience delivering mechanical, roofing and refurbishment projects.
  • Experience working within listed, heritage or complex occupied buildings would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong contractor, programme, budget and stakeholder management experience.
  • SMSTS as a minimum.
  • Current SC Clearance is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of CCS frameworks/public sector project delivery would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with a hands-on, delivery-focused approach.
