About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager or an ambitious Senior Site Agent looking to take the next step in their career with PJD, part of the VolkerLaser.

You'll initially join a specialist HS2 slipforming tunnel project in Birmingham for approximately six months before progressing onto major infrastructure projects across the UK, with potential opportunities in Europe.

We're looking for a motivated leader with experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects, strong stakeholder management skills, and a commitment to safety, quality and programme delivery.

The role is site-based and operates on a rotating shift pattern of 12-hour days, working Monday to Saturday one week and Monday to Friday the next.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall accountability for safe, compliant and successful project delivery
  • Set project strategy, plans, programmes and delivery standards
  • Own programme, cost, quality and HSE performance
  • Set delivery strategy and manage risks, change and recovery
  • Lead site teams and supply chain to right‑first‑time delivery
  • Control budgets, resources and commercial outcomes
  • Manage client, stakeholder and internal reporting
  • Ensure technical, design and temporary works compliance
  • Drive company values, team development and positive culture

About you

  • Technical qualification (example Degree in civil engineering or HND)
  • Experience within concrete and steel repair
  • Somer exposure on blasting and painting contracts
  • Proven technical and project management abilities
  • Strong organisational and management skills
  • Knowledge of the requirements and implementation of CDM regulations
  • Ability to produce Work Package Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, and implement safe systems of work
  • Detailed knowledge of Safety, Quality and Environmental issues relevant to the project environment
  • Flexibility to travel and work nationwide is essential.
