About Us

Connect2Dorset is the managed service provider for Dorset Council, delivering high-quality temporary, contract, and interim staffing solutions. We pride ourselves on being an ethical, transparent, and people-focused organisation, committed to supporting both our clients and candidates.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and organised Transformation Project Officer to support the delivery of key projects across Dorset Council's Transformation Programme. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in helping to plan, coordinate and deliver projects that drive service improvement and organisational change.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders. You will support project managers throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered effectively, on time, and in line with agreed objectives. A key part of the role will involve working closely with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members, supporting governance activities, preparing reports and presentations, and contributing to strategic transformation initiatives across the Council.

Key Responsibilities

· Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of transformation projects from initiation through to completion.

· Maintain project plans, control logs, action trackers, and project documentation.

· Build and maintain effective working relationships with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members, supporting governance processes and providing project information, reports, and updates to inform decision-making.

· Prepare and distribute project reports, presentations, agendas, and meeting materials.

· Organise and facilitate project meetings, workshops, governance boards, and stakeholder sessions.

· Gather, analyse, and present research, data, and project information to support decision-making.

· Monitor project progress and follow up on outstanding actions and deliverables.

· Ensure project information is accurately maintained and complies with relevant data protection requirements.

· Develop and maintain project templates, guidance documents, and process materials.

· Work collaboratively with project managers, programme teams, and stakeholders across the organisation.

· Support project communications and promote project activities where required.

· Assist with monitoring project budgets and gathering evidence to demonstrate project outcomes and benefits.

· Provide guidance and support to colleagues in the use of project management tools and systems.

About You

· Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.

· Experience supporting the successful delivery of projects and programmes.

· Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

· Experience maintaining project documentation and using project tracking tools.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and present information clearly.

· Experience building effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders.

· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

· The ability to work independently, use initiative, and solve problems effectively.

· An understanding of project management principles and methodologies.

· Previous experience within a large organisation or local authority environment would be advantageous.

· Project management qualifications such as APM PFQ or PRINCE2 are desirable.
