Project Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor (Fire Remediation & Recladding work) – City of London

Salary/Package: £67,500 – £77,500 + Travel Allowance, Private Medical, Life Assurance, Critical Illness Cover, Pension, Discretionary Bonus, 28 Days Holiday + bank holidays

O’Neill & Brennan are currently working with a well-established main contractor specialising in fire remediation and recladding projects across London and the Southeast.

Operating from a brand-new modern office in the City of London, they have built a strong reputation within the sector and continue to grow at a healthy and sustainable rate. With a secured pipeline of work extending through to 2029, they are now seeking to appoint a Project Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of multiple remediation schemes.

The successful candidate will oversee between 2 - 3 live projects ranging from £500k to £10m in value, reporting directly to the Commercial Director and working closely with an experienced Senior Surveyor. This role offers genuine autonomy, exposure to senior decision-making and a clear pathway for progression within an expanding commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of projects whilst developing their career within one of the construction industry's busiest and most resilient sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of 2 - 3 fire remediation and recladding projects valued between £500k and £10m
  • Procurement and management of subcontract packages
  • Preparation of cost reports, forecasts and monthly valuations
  • Managing variations, compensation events and change control processes
  • Supporting project delivery teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
  • Subcontractor account management, payments and final accounts
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial risks across projects
  • Reporting directly to the Commercial Director on project performance

Requirements

  • Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment
  • Strong understanding of subcontract procurement and package management
  • Experience administering JCT contracts
  • Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Fire remediation, recladding, façade or refurbishment experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Able and willing to travel to project sites as required

  • £67,500 – £77,500 basic salary (potentially negotiable as justified by experience)
