Lead Senior Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor (Cut & Carve Residential, Commercial & Leisure) – Central London

Salary/Package: £80,000 – £90,000 + Travel/Car Allowance + Private Medical + Pension + Discretionary Bonus + Annual Leave

O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a well-established main contractor who are looking to appoint a Lead Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for a flagship cut and carve project based in the Great Portland Street area.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex refurbishment and cut and carve schemes across the residential, commercial and leisure sectors. You will take the commercial lead on a high-profile project from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with the Project Director and leading the commercial function on site.

The business has a strong pipeline of secured work across Central London, offering excellent long-term career progression and the opportunity to work on technically challenging, high-value schemes.

Role Overview

Title: Lead Senior Quantity Surveyor
Project: Cut & Carve Residential, Commercial or Leisure Development
Location: Great Portland Street, Central London
Salary: Up to £90,000 + Package
Start: ASAP but can wait for the right person
Type: Permanent

Responsibilities
  • Taking full commercial responsibility for a cut and carve project from procurement through to final account

  • Leading the procurement and commercial management of all subcontract packages

  • Producing CVRs, cost reports, cash flow forecasts and monthly commercial reporting

  • Managing subcontractor accounts including valuations, variations, payments and final accounts

  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle

  • Leading client meetings and maintaining strong relationships with consultants and the wider project team

  • Providing commercial leadership and mentoring junior members of the commercial team

  • Working closely with operational and design teams to ensure successful commercial delivery of the project

Requirements
  • Experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Lead Senior Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor

  • Proven experience delivering residential, commercial or leisure cut and carve projects

  • Experience leading the commercial delivery of projects through the full project lifecycle, from procurement to final account

  • Strong knowledge of cost reporting, procurement, contract administration and commercial management

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills

  • Able and willing to commute to the Great Portland Street area
