Project Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor - Isle of Wight
Willmott Dixon currently has exciting opportunities for a well-rounded Project Surveyors / Quantity Surveyors to work on projects within our South Division. We deliver projects between £10m -£100 million across multiple sectors such including Education, Defence, Healthcare, Blue Light and more… So, no two projects are the same!
As a successful Project Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing commercial support on projects to ensure that it is procured, delivered within budget and to the highest quality whilst exceeding our customers' expectations. You will be responsible for the delivery of the project to meet its financial targets.
You will have a strong working knowledge of contract conditions and the procurement of packages of works as well as management of project risks.

*NB. Initial project allocation will be working on one of two DfE School projects based on the Isle of Wight, which has a train link from Ryde pier where the passenger ferry from Portsmouth docks!
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure projects are delivered within budget and to the highest quality, exceeding customer expectations.
- Work closely with the project team and senior commercial staff to ensure budgeted targets are met.
- Establish strong working relationships with supply chain, consultants, and customers.
- Accurately value, certify, and issue payment notices for supply chain partners in accordance with contract arrangements.
- Manage the procurement of work packages from our proven supply chain partners in line with company standards and requirements.
- Input into cost value comparison (CVC) reports to accurately reflect the current position on site and the final projection.
- Identify any potential disputes in a timely manner and enable introduction of effective solutions.
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the commercial construction industry.
- Experience with NEC and JCT contracts
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel.
- Procurement and cost management experience.
- Excellent financial and contractual awareness.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Valid driving licence.
Desirable Skills:
- Degree in Construction or a related field
- Membership or working towards MCIOB or RICS
