Proposal Coordinator / Estimator

Location: Sittingbourne
Salary: Negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30

We are looking for a responsible and organised Proposal Coordinator / Estimator to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a technical environment, with full on-the-job training provided.

The role will involve working with customers, internal teams and suppliers to understand requirements, attend site visits and produce accurate and detailed proposals. The successful candidate will need to be confident communicating with customers, comfortable working independently and able to manage multiple proposals through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise directly with customers to establish their key requirements
  • Attend customer sites to gather further information and understand requirements
  • Work closely with internal teams and suppliers
  • Prepare detailed and accurate proposals
  • Submit quotations and proposals within agreed timescales
  • Keep internal systems up to date with current proposals
  • Update and amend proposals where required
  • Follow up and chase proposals to help meet quotation targets
  • Maintain accurate records throughout the proposal process
  • Provide clear handovers to the project team when proposals are accepted
  • Build knowledge of the products, systems and services through on-the-job training
  • Work both independently and as part of a wider team

About You

  • Relevant qualification, ideally to A Level or City & Guilds standard
  • Candidates with good GCSE grades in Mathematics, English Language and Science, or equivalent, will also be considered
  • Some educational experience or knowledge of water treatment systems
  • Previous experience within the UK water industry would be advantageous
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  • Able to understand detailed customer requirements
  • Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues
  • Able to manage your own workload and work independently
  • Willing to travel to customer sites when required
  • Flexible regarding occasional overnight stays
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Any existing driving licence endorsements must be declared as part of the application
