We are currently recruiting for an experienced PSV Technician to join a busy and professional fleet maintenance operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking for a long-term role within a well-established transport environment.
The Role
As a PSV Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of a modern PSV fleet, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant and available for daily operation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing on PSV vehicles.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Completing safety inspections and defect rectification.
- Preparing vehicles for MOT and statutory inspections.
- Carrying out routine maintenance and component replacement.
- Investigating and resolving vehicle defects efficiently.
- Supporting breakdown and recovery requirements when necessary.
- Completing maintenance records and relevant documentation.
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with health & safety procedures.
- Working as part of a professional engineering team to maximise fleet availability.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced PSV Technician who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience working on PSVs, buses or coaches.
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualification, ideally Level 3 Bus & Coach Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience with preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections.
- Good understanding of vehicle safety and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A professional, reliable and safety-focused approach.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts where required.
- IRTEC qualification.
- Experience with diagnostic equipment.
- PCV/PSV driving licence.
- Experience working with electric or hybrid vehicles.
- Previous experience within a busy fleet or public transport environment.
