Psychology Graduate
Red 5 People
We're recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's largest charities for multiple Employment Specialist opportunities across Ealing, Brent, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Harrow, Hammersmith and Barnet. You'll support people living with mental or physical health conditions to find work, build confidence and stay in employment. They'll teach you everything – you will get to learn all about the clinical IPS Model (Individual Placement Support) and become a specialist.
The role
Every day is different. One morning you might be helping someone prepare for their first interview in years. That afternoon you could be chatting with a local employer about creating a new opportunity, or meeting with NHS clinicians to plan the best support for a participant. You will:
- Support people with CVs, interviews, job searching and settling into work.
- Build relationships with employers and identify job opportunities.
- Work alongside NHS teams, Jobcentres and local partners.
- Manage your own diary and caseload.
This isn't an office job. You'll spend your time out in the community, meeting people in Jobcentres, NHS sites, council buildings and, occasionally, coffee shops (yes, there's a coffee budget).
A quick reality check
- This is incredibly rewarding work, but it isn't always easy.
- You'll be supporting vulnerable people who may be facing significant challenges, so safeguarding is a big part of the role. You'll manage your own workload, work towards targets and spend much of your time working independently, although you'll have regular support from your Team Leader and structured check-ins.
- If you're organised, resilient and genuinely enjoy helping people, you'll probably love it.
- You'll receive full IPS training, shadow experienced colleagues and have ongoing coaching from your Team Leader. It's a brilliant way to build a career in employability, mental health and health-related employment support.
You'll ideally have either:
- Experience supporting vulnerable people (paid or voluntary), or
- At least 12 months in a target-driven environment such as recruitment, sales or customer service.
