Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant 

Location: Coventry
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full-time or Part-time opportunities available
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience before pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Mental Health, Speech & Language Therapy, or Teaching?

We are recruiting compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a welcoming and supportive special school in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your practical skills while making a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including autism, learning difficulties, and communication needs.
• Work alongside experienced teachers and therapists to deliver engaging learning activities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, independence, and personal development.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
• Support pupils both in the classroom and during break times and school activities.

• A degree in Psychology (or a closely related subject).
• A caring, patient, and resilient approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
• Previous experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is beneficial but not essential.

• An enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Availability to work Monday to Friday (part-time hours can also be considered)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
