About the Role

As a Psychology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and academically rigorous lessons that encourage students to explore key psychological concepts, research methods, and real-world applications. You will support learners in developing critical thinking, analytical skills, and scientific understanding of behaviour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Psychology lessons in line with GCSE and A-Level specifications
  • Teach topics such as cognitive psychology, social influence, memory, development, and psychopathology
  • Introduce research methods, data analysis, and evaluation skills
  • Support students in developing essay writing and exam techniques
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the department
  • Support enrichment activities such as revision workshops or psychology clubs

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable but not always essential for sixth form)
  • Degree in Psychology or related subject
  • Strong understanding of psychological theories and research
  • Ability to make complex concepts engaging and accessible
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student well being
  • Willingness to contribute to wider school and sixth form life
