Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and caring PRU Support Assistants to work within a specialist educational setting in the Swansea area. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to positively impact learners who benefit from additional behavioural, emotional, and educational support.
About the LearnersYou will be supporting pupils who may face barriers to learning in mainstream education and require a nurturing, structured, and supportive environment to thrive.
Learners may present with:
✅ Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
✅ Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
✅ ADHD and attention difficulties
✅ Anxiety and low confidence
✅ Emotional regulation difficulties
✅ Challenging behaviour
✅ Trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)
✅ Engagement and attendance barriers
✅ Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
These young people benefit from positive role models who can build trusting relationships and help them develop both academically and personally.
Your ResponsibilitiesAs a PRU Support Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support
Support pupils to engage positively with learning activities
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Help learners develop social skills and confidence
Assist with classroom-based learning and interventions
Encourage independence and resilience
Support pupils during breaktimes and enrichment activities
Implement behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques
Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to meet individual learner needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
