A newly created opportunity for a Purchasing Administrator to join the operations team of a long established, progressive manufacturing organisation.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll support procurement, accounts, operations and wider business activities, helping to ensure everything runs efficiently behind the scenes. Key responsibilities of the purchasing administrator include:
- Provide administrative support across procurement, accounts and operations.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions and supplier communications.
- Maintain accurate records, databases and business documentation.
- Scan and securely maintain purchase orders, goods received notes and payment records.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, confirm orders and monitor deliveries.
- Monitor stock levels and help maintain continuity of supply.
- Assist in resolving delivery, quality and invoice queries.
- Produce reports, spreadsheets and business documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and management systems.
- Provide general office administration including filing, correspondence, data entry and diary coordination.
- Support cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and external stakeholders.
What we’re looking for:
About You -
You’ll be a skilled administrator, ideally with procurement expertise, who thrives in a fast-paced business support role.
You'll bring –
- Experience in an administrative or business support role.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- High attention to detail with excellent accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently.
- A positive, professional attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
Desirable skills -
- Experience supporting procurement or operations.
- Knowledge of purchasing or ERP systems.
- Understanding of supply chain or inventory management.
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
